Biography
Dr Gail Kenning is a qualitative researcher using art-based and interpretative approaches to understand lived experience of older adults and people with dementia. She explores how creativity 1) can support and facilitate health and wellbeing; and 2) can be applied in the collection of data to understand the concerns, needs, and embodied lived experience in relation to physical and mental health, social engagement/disengagement, and connection/disconnection. Creative approaches include participatory workshops and deliberative discussion, storytelling, and creative making. Combining her background in art/design practice, academic research, industry and community engagement, she also consults to industry, arts health organisations, and government.
