Christoph Rhemann is a Research Scientist and Manager at Google leading work on 3D human digitization. His current work straddles data capture, reconstruction and synthesis. Previously, he was a founding team member at perceptiveIO and researcher at Microsoft Research. His PhD from Vienna University of Technology was sponsored by Microsoft Research Cambridge. He has 10+ years experience in depth estimation and other computer vision problems. Key research includes Holoportation (first real-time 3D telecommunication system for Hololens shown at TED 2016), PatchMatch Stereo and CostFilter Stereo. He published at top conferences including CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, IJCV, PAMI, SIGGRAPH, and SIGGRAPH ASIA.
